Ellen Cathrine Rasmussen joined Xynergo as Managing Director in 2009. She has experience from the Norwegian Ministry of Industry and Trade and Norsk Hydro ASA. At Hydro, she held various commercial and management positions in the oil & gas, petrochemical and aluminium divisions. Rasmussen holds a Master of Economics from the University of Oslo.
Nils Christian Helgesen has experience from the pulp and paper as well as the power industries. He has also worked as an independent consultant, specializing in efficiency optimization methodology. Helgesen holds a Master degree in finance from 1996 and a Bachelor degree in agriculture from 1991.
Gjermund Røkke has 35 years experience from Norske Skog, where he held positions with responsibilities for production, environment, IT, strategy and investment projects. He holds a Master degree in thermodynamics engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (formerly NTH).
Bjorn Bergesen has 23 years experience from Esso/ExxonMobil, in Norway and internationally, with commercial and management positions in retail & marketing, shipping, products trading, crude oil trading, supply chain optimization and real estate. He joined Xynergo from a position as Vice President Commercial in Gassnova SF, with responsibility for procurement and commercial agreements related to CCS projects. He holds a Master degree in Finance from the Norwegian School of Management (BI).
Burkhard Rüther has experience from various research organizations in Germany and has established a supply system and structure for a German pulp company in Scandinavia. His competence includes the European timber market, logistic systems, forest economics and project management. He holds a Master degree of forestry from University Göttingen and a Assessor degree of forestry from Forest Ministry of Lower Saxony, both in Germany.

Mill manager at Norske Skog Follum, with previous corporate management experience with Norske Skog and mill management at Norske Skog Saugbrugs. Chairman of the board of Follum Energisentral and Follum Industripark, board member of Wood and Logistics and NSI Focus. He holds a Master degree in chemical engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (formerly NTH).
Olav Sletbakk
Head of sales and development at Viken Skog. Chairman of the board of Haldingdal Trepellets, board member of Miljøvarme Vseb, Trebruk, Norsk Virkesmåling, Bioviken, and Miljøvarme Hadeland. He holds a Cand. Agriculture degree from Norges Landbrukshøyskole.
Dr. Klaus Schöffel
Vice President Technology of Gassnova. He has over 15 years experience in industrial R&D within catalysis and new energy technologies from Hydro as chief-scientist and research director. He worked two years as Vice President Corporate Energy in Norske Skog and as Managing Director of Xynergo from February 2008 until June 2009. He holds a PHD in theoretical chemistry from Freie University in Berlin
